Artemis Project Management Course with ViewPoint


Overview
he Artemis Project Management Course with ViewPoint™ provides a basic understanding of the main capabilities of project management on the web. The objective of the course is to teach the users how to apply the various capabilities of project management within the Artemis Views application on the web. This includes understanding and working with the Views database, timesheets, and basic risk and issue management.
Objectives
Upon completing the course, attendees will be able to:
  • Understand and use Project Management within ViewPoint to analyze projects
  • Enter risks and issues
  • Understand various roles within Artemis Project Management and the requirements to configure and utilize these roles
  • Understand and work with Advanced Planning with ProjectView and/or Advanced Planning with MspClient
Prerequisites
No prerequisites defined; however, it is highly recommended that attendees understand their business requirements for Project Management with ViewPoint and their current product design documented in the Application Design Review. Previous experience with Advanced Planning with ProjectView and/or Advanced Planning with MSPClient would be useful but not required

Project Analytics Reporting Course with Views Datamart


Overview
The Project Analytics Reporting course with Views Datamart™ provides a comprehensive understanding of Views Datamart™ tables. The objective of the course is to provide the user with an understanding of the content of the tables so that they develop custom reports. Ultimately, any reporting tool that allows SQL-based reporting can be used when creating reports from the Artemis Views Datamart tables, during the course Excel with Microsoft Query will be used.
Objectives
Upon completing the course, attendees will be able to:
  • Understand what is a fact and dimension table.
  • Understand what data is available in the Artemis Views Datamart.
  • Understand how to join tables for reporting.
  • Create a simple Excel reports.

Overview
The Project Analytics Analysis course with GlobalView™ provides a comprehensive understanding of the use and integration of GlobalView™ in an enterprise project management environment. The objective of the course is to teach the users all of the components and multi-dimensional concepts of the GlobalView™ User module. Emphasis is on the ability to effectively analyze and report on the cost, schedule and resources for all corporate projects
Objectives
Upon completing the course, attendees will be able to:
  • Drill down and slice & dice data
  • Use Explorer to filter data, add layers and analyze various measures
  • Use Reporter to perform calculations, rank data and intersect categories.
  • Format report styles, exceptions, hiding data, and final output.
  • Distribute reports for other users across the organization
  • Use the capabilities of the web version of Project Analytics with GlobalView™.

Project Analytics Administrator Course with GlobalView


Overview
The Project Analytics Course with GlobalView Administrator provides a comprehensive understanding of the use of GlobalView Administrator in an enterprise project management environment. The objective of the course is to give the user the ability to configure, produce and maintain multi-dimensional cubes for Artemis GlobalView analysis.
Objectives
Upon completing the course, attendees will be able to:
  • Design and build basic cubes.
  • Work with configuration data, cube sizes and performance criteria
  • Set up security in terms of roles, users, projects and cubes.
  • Distribute data to the organization including cubes, reports, briefing books, shared exceptions, shared menus and HTML output
Prerequisites
Attendees must have completed the Artemis Administrator course. It is recommended that attendees complete the Advance Planning Basics course with ProjectView™ or Advanced Planning Course with MSPClient and the Project Analytics Analysis course with GlobalView™. Six month of experience with Artemis Views™ may be substituted, with precautions

Artemis Views Administrator Course


Overview
The Artemis Views Administrator course provides a comprehensive understanding of how the use Artemis Manager™, Artemis Project Management and Artemis Security Manager to configure the system to support the business requirements defined for the particular application of Artemis Views. The course focuses on creating shared data, setting system standards, creating users (and their privileges) and system security
Objectives
Upon completing the course, attendees will be able to:
  • Create code categories.
  • Assign project and resource code categories.
  • Create calendars (calculation, personal, fiscal and spread).
  • Create resources (user/people, normal, group and skill).
  • Create resource pools and define resource availability and rates).
  • Create a project (header information including assigning project and activity codes).
  • Create a default user configuration.
  • Understand how to use Artemis Security Manager™ to set project and shared data security.
  • Configure the interface between Artemis TrackView™ and Artemis ProjectView™.
  • Utilize Artemis Management to configure web role security

Advanced Planning Basics Course with ProjectView


Overview
The Advanced Planning Basics Course with ProjectView™ provides a basic understanding of the use main capabilities of Advanced Planning with ProjectView™. The objective of the course is to teach the users how to apply the various capabilities of Advanced Planning to the classic Project Control Cycle. This includes understanding how to work with enterprise shared data, create and baseline projects, update/forecast project status, exercise various reporting features and work in a multi-project environment.
Objectives
Upon completing the course, attendees will be able to:
  • Understand shared data including: code categories, calendars and resources.
  • Create a project (from a template or build a network) and apply shared data.
  • Assign resources to activities within a project.
  • Exercise and understand the basic capabilities of time and resource scheduling.
  • Create a project baseline (and other necessary versions).
  • Update the project with time and resource progress (status).
  • Generate basic Artemis ProjectView™ reports.
  • Utilize Artemis ProjectView to perform multi-project analyses (multi-project groups and Planning View)

Overview
The Advanced MSP Planning Course with MSPClient™ provides a basic understanding of the Microsoft project planning tool in conjunction with the Artemis Views™ database, in order to implement corporate planning standards. Participants will understand the use of a planning and control cycle of procedures within an individual and multi project environment
Objectives
Upon completing the course, attendees will be able to:
  • Define and create a project in MSPClient™.
  • Add resources.
  • Time schedule a project.
  • Perform resource scheduling.
  • Perform version control.
  • Progress and forecast.
  • Work in a multi project environment as well as an individual environment.

The Advanced MSP Planning Administrator Course with MSPClient™ provides a comprehensive understanding to configure the system to support the business requirements defined for implementation of MSPClient. The objective of the course is to teach the user how to apply the various configuration capabilities of Artemis MSPClient Administrator. The course focuses on configuration setting within the Administrator function only.
Objectives
Upon completing the course, attendees will be able to:
  • Understand the relationship between the options in MSPClient and MSPClient Administrator.
  • Understand the options on each of the Administrator tabs.

Advanced Planning Power Users Course with ProjectView


Overview
The Advanced Planning Users Course with ProjectView Power is designed to assist experienced ProjectView™ users optimize the benefits they gain from the tool to generate clear and consistent results through some of its more advanced features. The course is presented in a more open format following key topic areas that are designed to stimulate ideas and solutions. This provides the attendees with a forum to investigate specific needs, to share ideas and to determine the best approaches to obtaining the solutions they require through the use of the tool.
The key topic areas addressed during the course are:
  • advanced critical path scheduling
  • advanced resource scheduling
  • earned value
  • advanced portfolio management
These key topics form the basis for a series of hands-on exercises, hints and tips, and open idea sharing that are designed to enhance the learning experience and ensure that each attendee’s level of understanding of the tools is better developed.
Objectives
Upon completing the course, attendees will be able to:
  • Identify and apply various strategies that improve and optimize the critical path schedule for single and multiple projects.
  • Apply resource leveling strategies and techniques to analyze project schedules.
  • Identify, understand and use the variety project, activity and resource coding features, including extension fields.
  • Use resource aggregation and management graphics for resource allocation reporting and earned value reporting.

Artemis Database Basics


Overview
The Artemis Database Basics course provides you with an understanding of the Artemis Views™ database including the Views Datamart™ structure. The course takes you through the entity relationship in steps that relate to the type of data being generated. You will be provided with some examples of how standard table relationships will not necessarily give you the end results you require. These topics are demonstrated through real examples of complex links, queries and formulas.
Objectives
Upon completing the course, attendees will be able to:
  • Identify the key Artemis Views tables that support Advanced Planning with ProjectView™, Earned Value Management with CostView™ and Time Reporting with TrackView™.
  • Identify the relationships between key Artemis Views™ tables.
  • Construct simple and complex queries that demonstrate how you can construct more complex integration scenarios with Artemis Views, develop customized reports, construct SQL statements to support Artemis Active!Alerts, and the create of database triggers and stored procedures.
  • Identify tables where data should not be manipulated or areas that may affect application performance.
  • Identify the parameter for configuration of the Artemis Views Datamart™.
  • Construct queries using the Views Datamart to produce reports using Excel, Access and discussion of use with other reporting tools
Prerequisites
The workshop assumes that the attendees participants have a basic understanding of SQL, that is, understand how to put a query together using the basics of SELECT, FROM and WHERE. The use of SQL is a fundamental part of the course and where appropriate this is expanded to cover database specifics.

Overview
The Earned Value Management Administrator Course with CostView™ provides a comprehensive understanding to configure the system to support the business requirements defined for Earned Value Management within CostView™. The objective of the course is to teach the users how to apply the various capabilities of Artemis CostView. The course focuses on creating shared data, setting system standards, creating users (and their privileges) and system security.
Objectives
Upon completing the course, attendees will be able to:
  • Understand the Cost Control Cycle.
  • Create and work with shared data (Calendars, Structures, Rates. Cost Types).
  • Create a project (from a template or build a network) and apply shared data.
